Riding the train

Today I took my first train ride on the Brown Line. It was so fun. We went up to the platform and had to wait a little bit for the train but then it came and went really fast! I was in my new stroller and we got off a few stops away. Then we took a nice walk around the neighborhood we were in and stopped at a few stores. Then we got to ride the train back! It was so fun. I can't wait to ride the train all the time when I get older.

My new friend Nathan

On Friday, we had visitors- Mom's friend Kristi and my new friend Nathan! Nathan is three months old and very cute. He sat in the Bumbo for the first time. We had a good time and then Nathan and his mom had to leave because he was a tired boy. It was nice to have visitors for the morning and we will definitely be hanging out with them again soon.

Wii and kitties

So, since yesterday was a rainy Saturday- we went to Uncle Istvan's and Auntie Stefani's for lunch and Wii. Daddy and Uncle Istvan really got into the boxing game, while I watched the kitties! They let me pet them even. Here is a picture of me with Mama, Auntie Stefani and Duvel. He is the boy kitty. After our fun was cut short by a power outage, we took the party back to my house and cooked out. Overall it was a great day- although very tiring, since I refused to take my third nap. Tomorrow we are going to visit someone special and will return with more pictures....see you then.

Jack Laughing 2

This one goes out to Gran...

Jack's 1st tooth is not so lonely now...

Jack now has two teeth- both on the bottom. They are so cute. In this video, if you look closely you can see both of them. It is amazing how quickly he is growing! He is also trying to go from a sitting position into a crawling position- he does this by lunging forward and can really move! He loves making noise when he plays and yesterday on our way back from Target he roughed up his Lion (hanging from his carseat) with a rattle. It was hysterical. On Saturday, Jack went to his 1st Chicago Street Festiva- The Folk and Roots festival in Lincoln Square. We got to see the hula instructor who taught mama how to do the wedding hula. She was having a "jam session" with her ukelele group and some hula girls! Jack had fun and it was a beautiful day. On Sunday, we went up to see Olli's new playmates- 2 kittens! They don't have names yet but one is black and one is calico- very cute. I am sure Olli and Jack will have a lot of fun with them and the cats will learn to move very quickly!

Jack had a great day today!!!

Jack had a really great day today, took his naps and was overall really happy. Here is a video of him "eating" although he is spending more time laughing than actually eating his food. We went to visit our friends at The Kenwood today and everyone couldn't believe how big he was and how cute he is!

The weather has been so nice here so we have been hanging out in our front yard. Jack likes it and Maggie gets some time to sniff everything! Jack was enjoying trying to eat grass yesterday when I took these pictures. He has been a little more fussy with his teething but we are surviving! He still just has the one tooth but I think the one beside it will be coming through soon. Hopefully the good weather will continue so we can spend lots of time outdoors!

Jack's First Tooth

Jack got his first tooth yesterday and it wasn't so bad afterall. You would think that all of the teething issues leading up to it would have made yesterday a really bad day but really we didn't even know the tooth had come in until I felt it. It is the bottom left tooth in the front and it feels like the one beside it will come in soon as well. I will post a picture once I get one, he doesn't like me trying to look at it! We also went to meet the newest members of the Abdai family, Orangeboom and Duval- Jack liked to try and grab their tails. They will have a lot of fun together once Jack is able to chase them!

Jack's First 4th of July

Happy birthday America! Jack enjoyed a cookout with some of his favorite people for America's birthday. Uncle Istvan, Mommy and Daddy and Auntie Joanna showed Jack how to eat up a lot of meat for America's 232nd birthday. Auntie Stefani did not participate in the meat eating festivities but did enjoy the cookout. Jack also learned that Uncle Istvan's hair is much crispier than daddy's. He had a great time and even slept through the fireworks that our sweet neighbors did until 12:45 a.m. Maggie on the other hand was another story with the fireworks, but we all survived it.

The first post!

So we decided to join the 21st century a few years too late and start a blog! You'll get to see all the fun videos and pictures of Jack on one site and see what happens when we raise Jack in the big city!
